General Class Information

At Kinhaven, we offer a wide range of classes to suit most families' needs. The school is in session Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Children bring their own lunch and eat at school. A snack, which is provided by a classroom parent, is also part of the daily schedule.

* Children born between 7/01/07 and 09/30/07 will be eligible to attend upon reaching 14 months of age.

 

Junior Kindergarten (JK) Program

Kinhaven's JK program is designed to meet the growing need in the community for an enriching, pre-academic environment for older fours and children who have turned five but need the gift of time before entering Kindergarten. The JK class has a maximum of ten children with one teacher. This smaller class size fosters a cohesive group while meeting the individual needs of each child. A variety of concrete learning experiences including dramatic-play, science activitites, field trips and work with pre-math and reading and writing materials are offered. Children enrolled in this class must turn five by December 31, 2008.

 

Extended Day Available for Three and Four Year Olds

Kinhaven is pleased to be able to offer extended hours several afternoons a week. This varies each year according to parent interest, and space is limited. Please inquire.
